El Valle del Cauca y la ciudad de Cali serán beneficiados por inversión de 22 mil millones de pesos por parte de MinTIC. Se realiza con el objetivo de mejorar la conectividad.
Desde el Instituto Departamental de Bellas Artes, Mauricio Lizcano, ministro de Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones (TIC). Realizo la firma del convenio ‘Conectando el Valle del Cauca’, El cual beneficia con conectividad gratuita a 7.531 hogares de 17 municipios, entre ellos Santiago de Cali, y un corregimiento.

“El acceso a internet transforma los territorios en todos sus aspectos. Esta inversión no solo mejora la conectividad, sino que también impulsa el desarrollo digital de la región”, expresó el Mauricio Lizcano ministro de Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones. Además aseguro que desde MinTIC, garantizaran la conectividad durante la COP16 y velar por la ciberseguridad.
El convenio ‘Conectando el Valle del Cauca: Inclusión y Apropiación Tecnológica para Todos’. Pues se llevara a cabo mediante 570 Km de fibra óptica en red troncal y 500 km de fibra de última milla. Tendrá una inversión de $22.000 millones, de los cuales $2.000 millones son aportados por la gobernación y $20.000 millones por el Ministerio TIC.
Por otro lado, Willian Valencia, subdirector de Innovación Digital del Departamento Administrativo de Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones (Datic). Habló sobre la importancia de esta. “En nombre del alcalde Alejandro Eder y del director de Datic, Alexander Mondragón, celebramos esta noticia tan relevante para la comunidad de la región. La conectividad es una herramienta clave para acceder a la información desde cualquier lugar y que más personas tengan este beneficio de manera gratuita, es un gran avance”.
Mediante esta alianza estratégica con el Gobierno Nacional representa un paso firme hacia el cierre de la brecha digital, además de fomentar la inclusión y el desarrollo tecnológico en Cali y el Valle del Cauca.
