La CVC rescató a un animal muy curioso y que casi no se ve en el departamento, una marmosa recién nacida.
Un grupo de personas encontraron a la especie en la vía que lleva a Buga, cuando aún se encontraba en la bolsa de su mamá, quien estaba muerta.

Las personas pensaron que era una zarigüeya, un ratón o algún tipo de comadreja, debido a su larga cola, pero no era nada de eso.
La marmosa es un mamífero Marsupial, conocido como ratón de anteojos que se destaca por sus expresivos ojos, es inofensiva y no transmite enfermedades a las personas.
Esta especie pertenece a los pequeños marsupiales, es inofensiva y, en ocasiones, acumula grasa en su cola como fuente de energía. Se alimenta de insectos, animales pequeños y frutos; además tiene hábitos generalmente nocturnos.

La marmosa tenía pocos días de nacida, por lo que fue llevada a revisión médica y afortunadamente tenía buena salud.
La pequeña especie está en el área de neonatos de la CVC, bajo la protección del Centro de Atención y Valoración de fauna silvestre San Emigdio, de Palmira, donde iniciará un proceso para volver a su hábitat natural.
